Kinetic’s Electric Energy Comes Home

There are book launches, and then there are homecomings.

Today, Kinetic's Electric Energy returned to the place where its story began - not as a manuscript or a design file, but as a finished volume. At Kinetic Engineering's headquarters in Pune, employees gathered for an intimate ceremony to celebrate the completion of a project that chronicles the company's extraordinary journey across five decades.

For many in the room, the pages carried more than history. They featured colleagues, mentors, products they had helped create and milestones they had witnessed firsthand. It was the first opportunity for Kinetic's own people to browse through the finished work, sparking conversations, smiles and plenty of nostalgia as familiar faces and long-forgotten moments appeared on every spread.

Ajinkya Firodia addressed the assembled staff with the book in hand, reflecting on the significance of preserving Kinetic's legacy and thanking everyone whose efforts had shaped the company over the years. Standing beside him, author Adil Jal Darukhanawala spoke briefly about the remarkable journey of researching and documenting Kinetic's evolution - from pioneering mopeds and scooters to the company's latest electric chapter.

One of the day's most memorable moments came when Adil presented and personally signed the very first final printed copy for Ajinkya Firodia, marking the occasion with a handwritten message that transformed the volume into a unique keepsake.

There was another special visitor. Dr Arun Firodia, whose vision and achievements form the backbone of much of the narrative, spent time carefully leafing through the pages. Watching the man who inspired so many of the stories revisit them in print was a fitting reminder of why the project had been undertaken in the first place.

With the book now in the hands of the people who lived its history, the journey had come full circle. Before it reached readers across the country, it had first been welcomed home by the Kinetic family itself.
